The beginnings of the Company go back to the year 1990, even without the current name, it was only an Environmental Consultancy. At that time, the country was going through a very particular political, economic and social situation. A stage began in which the opening of the economy was the fundamental pillar on which the Argentine government of that time relied. These days it seems incredible that at that point in time Argentina still did not have an environmental law. A few years later, Law 24,051 and decree 831\/93 appear. This began the environmental race, with large industries being the first to adopt environmental protection measures. This greatly favored the possibility of being able to work in the environment, a discipline very little known until then.<\/p>\n\t\t\t1,990\n

\n\tCompany is founded\n\t<\/h3>\n\t

The Company is founded in Rosario, and the first works carried out at that time consist of controlling the state of the region’s recreational waters, mainly swimming pools of clubs and institutions. For several years, the microbiological contamination of recreational water was studied with regulations of the Municipality of Rosario. This intensified much more in 1992 with the cholera outbreak.<\/p>\n\t\t\t1,998\n

\n\tAdoption of the Name\n\t<\/h3>\n\t

In the month of September of this year, the consultancy was renamed Biogroup, Center for Scientific and Technological Research. The history of the logo, the famous pixelated multicolor butterfly, originates from a quick search to be able to place it after the name and thus have a quick logo to add to the Consultant’s reports.<\/p>\n

\n\tFirst Publications\n\t<\/h3>\n\t

Many of the investigations carried out were transformed into papers which are presented at National and International Congresses and Symposiums. These large titles corresponded to research focused mainly on the treatment of industrial effluents, bioremediation and landfarming.<\/p>\n\t\t\t2,001\n

\n\tBiogroup inaugurates new office\n\t<\/h3>\n\t

Biogroup is now installed on Jun\u00edn street, in the northern zone of the City of Rosario. His first laboratory is set up, equipped with materials and instruments, most of them used. At that point, Biogroup has only four employees.<\/p>\n\t\t\t2,002\n\t\t\t2,005\n

\n\tBiogroup leads the region\n\t<\/h3>\n\t

In recent years, Biogroup has made considerable progress and has become one of the leaders in the region in terms of Environmental Impact Study and Environmental Audits. The largest studies were carried out by Biogroup.<\/p>\n\t\t\t2,008\n

\n\tNew building\n\t<\/h3>\n\t

Now the Company moves to the center of Rosario, to Calle 3 de Febrero, between Maip\u00fa and San Mart\u00edn. Acquire a property declared a few years ago “Historical Heritage” by the Municipality of Rosario. Here the new laboratory and the new Biogroup offices are set up. That same year, Biogroup’s laboratories are certified by COFILAB (Laboratory Oversight Council). The only certified laboratory in the Province of Santa Fe.<\/p>\n

\n\tNew services\n\t<\/h3>\n\t

Although the laboratory and other advisory services were mostly aimed at the quality of water and industrial effluents, the spectrum of services is broadened towards air monitoring, gaseous emissions and analysis of the work environment.<\/p>\n\t\t\t2,010\n

\n\tISO 9001\n\t<\/h3>\n\t

Biogroup obtains the ISO 9001 Quality Certificate after several months of work, preparation and dedication. It passes the Certification Audit of the Quality Management System in accordance with the ISO 9001:2008 standard, which guarantees the effectiveness of its quality management system and its commitment to continuous improvement.<\/p>\n\t\t\t2,011\n\t\t\t2,014\n

\n\tOPDS\n\t<\/h3>\n\t

This year, after a lot of work and dedication of all the Biogroup staff, it obtains the final Certificate of qualification of the industrial analysis laboratory for a term of 10 years, issued by the Provincial Directorate of Environmental Impact Assessment, Provincial Agency for Development Sustainable (OPDS). Biogroup, at this point, provides its services to more than 100 clients, inside and outside the country.<\/p>\n\t\t\t2,015\n

\n\tASSAL\n\t<\/h3>\n\t

The Santa Fe Food Safety Agency, under the Ministry of Health of the Province of Santa Fe, grants the Certificate of Registration in the Provincial Registry of Agro-Food Laboratory, enabling Biogroup laboratories to carry out officially valid food analysis.<\/p>\n

\n\tOAA accreditation\n\t<\/h3>\n\t

The Accreditation Committee of Testing Laboratories, Clinics and Proficiency Testing Providers (CALE) at its meeting on November 16, 2017 decides to grant accreditation with the IRAM 301:2005 Standard equivalent to the ISO\/IEC 17025:2005 Standard to the BIOGROUP Test Laboratory, Center for Scientific and Technological Research.<\/p>\n\t\t\t2,017\n

\n\tProvincial authorization\n\t<\/h3>\n\t

The “Biogroup” Scientific and Technological Research Center, according to Resolution No. 452 issued by the Ministry of the Environment of the Province of Santa Fe, has been registered in the REGISTRY OF ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSIS LABORATORIES with number 003 for completing all the requirements by Law No. 11,717, Decree No. 1363\/12 and Resolution No. 453\/18.<\/p>\n\t\t\t2,019\n\t\t\t2,020\n

\n\tCOVID-19 PANDEMIC\n\t<\/h3>\n\t

The “Biogroup” Scientific and Technological Research Center implemented the Sewage Effluent Monitoring Program for the Detection of Coronavirus (SARS CoV 2). The determination of the presence of the virus in sewage effluents allows us to know how the virus is moving from the epidemiological point of view within a city.<\/p>\n\t\t\t2,021\n

\n\tForeign customers\n\t<\/h3>\n\t

This year, Biogroup significantly expanded its portfolio of foreign clients. Companies from Chile, Paraguay, Bolivia, Uruguay, Peru and Mexico contracted the services of Biogroup to work mainly on those substances that migrate from packaging to food. These Latin American companies export their containers to various parts of the world. Biogroup is one of the only laboratories in South America with the greatest analytical capacity in the field of substance migration.
